Rider coaching

Sara is available for coaching riders on their own horse/pony at her yard in Moelfre, or locally by negotiation.

Sara's teaching style is tailored to the rider's goals and needs, but always aims to make the right thing easy for both human and equine, building confidence alongside building performance. Sara enjoys building long-term coaching relationships, supporting clients on and off-site with their riding and competition goals.

For example, in 2018, Sara supported three talented national-level RDA riders at the inaugural RDA/BD Intellectually Disabled Championships, as well as at RDA regional and national level. Sara's able-bodied pupils, meanwhile - in exciting new horse/rider partnerships - reached County-level showing and made their BD debut with great success. 2019 was a similarly busy season. Sadly, 2020 has of course been curtailed by the Coronavirus pandemic, although coaching (individual sessions only) has resumed with extensive social distancing and extra hygiene precautions in place.

We are not a riding school and hence Sara herself does not supply horses for clients to ride. However, there are occasional opportunities for yard riders to join the Cloister team and assist with producing and competing our own horses, and Sara is regularly asked to find para riders suitable for horses (including some based at SJW Equestrian) whose owners have kindly offered to loan them to para riders.

Para and able-bodied riders welcome
