What did we do in the COVID-19 pandemic? We Painted!

2020 has definitely been the weirdest year ever, what with the coronavirus pandemic, lockdown, and the introduction of social distancing. Whilst the yard was quiet, and only Sara and her family visiting daily (with timed slots for livery owners to pop in), a transformation has been underway...
As well as smartening up the arena with newly-painted white railings (and New-England style white trim on the stable doors!) the arena has had a top-up of sand, new jump stands have been created, all the jump poles have been painted, and a lot of thought has gone into making the yard COVID-secure... there's now a waiting area near the parking where riders/families can wait, with supplies of hand sanitizer in multiple locations. If you are riding with us for the first time, we will send a video briefing in advance.
Sara (with one of our medical livery owners!) has devised a risk assessment form for disabled riders that has been widely adopted by RDA groups elsewhere in the UK, and we are just resuming private, outdoor coaching now in line with the gradual easing of the lockdown in Wales.
Dressage Anywhere videoed tests have re-started, and we have three mares to prepare for video grading with the SPSS this year, so there is plenty going on!
